Hi Ron, just needing a bit information from somebody with a keen eye with talents to match. Is there anything that can be done to this photo to make it a bit neater.
Its a bit of a rarity. Taken in about 1916/17, it shows British , French, Italian,Belgian and Russian troops. in what is thought to be Mesopotamia (i Spelt that wrong) the only place where Russian troops served with the British. In what looks like the outside of some sort of hospital (judging by the curtains you can see through the windows. The one on the left, second row with the fez on and a bandage around his hand is my grandfather and he was in the army supply corps( blanket stackers). Who's famous saying was" if it fits bring it back and we,ll change it for you" later to serve in France.

1. When I return them to the sender I need a e-mail to tell me they have received them then I delete from my desktop.
This way It can't be mistaken of posting other peoples pictures, As under copyright law this is illegal.

2. When sending them to me , the bigger the file the better. some files may be to large to post so e-mail direct to ronB manderson

3. I don't need payment , but if someone wants to send anything to the site funds, that's ok by me.

4. Any member needing help in repair it them self they can contact me anytime.

Happy Patching :pirate:

Its one of two that i managed to save from the bonfire. He was in the Glamorgan yeomanry, a cavalry TA unit. Before being transferred into the ASC. Something to do with being able to work horses. Like most ww1 vets, whatever he saw he never spoke about and just drowned the memories in booze, which eventually killed him. (no not with liver failure etc) he fell under a bus pi**d. :drunk:

Wow! Ron what a change looks almost new, you certainly know what you are doing. :thumbsupp: :thumbsupp: :thumbsupp: :thumbsupp: :thumbsupp: :thumbsupp: You can actually see thier spurs and the way they wound on their putties.( just a bit of useless info) the ASC always wound their putties on the reverse way, this was to prevent them coming undone as they rode the horses.

that's a massive improvement on that picture, a good image enhancement considering the age of the original ron :thumbsupp:

right.
I will hold on to this one as I wish to make it black/ white not grey scale.
I have many programs I use, but my fav was microsoft picture it 7.
This program will not work on windows 7. Shame on them as it was a brill program.
I will set this up on my laptop and redo the picture a bit.
Photo shop/ photo studio and Photo plus 4,5, 6, 10.
Some programs do some things better.
Hope this is passable just now.
I was going to put an wall or a barrel on the right but could not get it to sit correctly

PS anyone got a spare left leg of a young child(with shoe on LOL

That's a grand job indeed you have already done with that image. I should think many would like to like to have an old knackered picture fixed. When you are satisfied with the end product and Geoff doesn't mind leaving this picture on the board I think it would be a fine example of before and after
