A little darlin Geoff and an amazing cake.
Good when they've gone back to Ma eh Tom?
Just back from a concert of some classical stuff the bos'n enjoys. Must say it was quite impressive, but the seats were bloody uncomfortable. I need a drink. Off to Exeter tomorrow for lunch with some friends, lunch out on Monday with some more friends, life is just one long social whirl down here in the sticks.

no doubt it will be a well deserved break for you and the bose?

As i said Luke stayed over. at his age he really doesn't take a lot of looking after, more guidance than caring for so to speak. in fact he is often a great help. now jack, well he's decide we wants to walk everywhere and my index figer must go with him. boy is it aching as well as the back, although he is capable of covering 10' or more unaided.

you're right there brian, that's some cake!

a special thanks to Angel for sending $50 for Olivia's headstone. when i told them what you had done they were astounded. therefore i am asked by Peter & Leigh to thank you with their sincerest thanks and appreciation for your extremely generous gesture

Good evening all. :pilot::
The day started off bright and sunny, by midday in came the strong winds and rain. Even as i write the wind is whistling around the house. The rain beating a tattoo on the roof.
Heres another pic of that cake and Maia with her hand full of the same. Her mother Crystal hails from Yorkshire, Goole in fact. ( But does that make all people coming from Goole <Goolies?) :scratchhead:

Oh you two stop it... it was an honor to send a small amount. Tom you have been such a wonderful friend to me and I was happy to help out. I wish I could be at the event your son is giving...but, I will be there in spirit.

One more day off work then back again after being home sick for over 3 weeks. I actually got sick on July 4th and just starting to get better. Thank goodness for modern medicine and lots of prayers.

Have a lovely day everyone. It's only going to be 102° in Bishop. :pirate2:

Oh... I want some of that cake. yum yum

Don't mention white chocolate Geoff. Sounds like you need to break out the old water wings mate with that forecast. It's been a nice sunny day here with a gentle NW breeze. Temp this arvo was 21c.
Pleased to hear you are feeling better Angel, that's been a long recovery gal.
Took the mutts out when we got back from Exeter and had a pleasant walk down to the shore. A beautiful summers evening with the sea hissing up the shingle, and the setting sun dropping down towards the blue sea making the water sparkle. Ah, took me straight back to some of those evenings on the old River Afton, sailing down past the Canaries bound for Pepel. Me and the Lecky, leaning on the rail outside the aft accommodation ,supping a tinny or three, watching the ocean roll by and setting the world to rights. Those were the days lads.

ya not joking that really is some water falling on taffy.
if the bairns were hyperat least you could send them all back home. it would have been a different story if you had to live with them  and :puke

if the summer is to persist as it is up here, it's going to be a long winter. it's almost overcast every day and guaranteed a shower or three. nothing like what geoff is getting but still enough to spoil a good day out for people.

i have to say it seems odd with howard missing, especially when he's usually around every day.

FURTHER HEAVY RAIN EXPECTED FOR EASTERN BAY OF PLENTY RANGES AND ALSO NORTHEASTERN PARTS OF NORTHLAND DURING TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY

A front currently over Northland is expected to move slowly southwards across the North Island during Tuesday, followed by an even more active front on Wednesday. The heavy rain over the ranges of eastern Bay of Plenty has eased for now. However, further heavy falls are expected there from Tuesday afternoon through to Wednesday evening, with another 150mm likely during this time. This is on top of the 100 to 200mm that has fallen in this area over the last 24 hours.

Good morning all. Not too bright a start today, still dry with a light W.breeze, temp 17c.
Yeah the barley is coming along Tom, but don't think it will win any prizes this year because of the lack of rain. Had a good lunch out yesterday at the Royal Oak , Withypool. A grand drive over the moor where the heather is just starting to bloom ,giving the land a purple haze. Great.

We are now into day three and its still raining. There is a lot of surface water lying around . So far there's been no problems , except for a few cars falling off the roads, (driving to fast for the conditions)
