some of us have phone package where you can call anywhere, anytime in the uk. it may well have a name like , talk unlimited, talk anytime or talk 24. sadly many organisation have clicked onto making money through phone calls. here is a site that can help us all save some money on these call. this site will search for an alternative standard number for you to call

Great site - been using it for years!
Another trick to find the standard number is to look for an international access number and take off the 44 and add 0.

good news for for virgin media customers as they announced that 0870 number are to become FREE if you have one of their telephone packages.... Bad news is they are increasing the line rental to £13.90 1st August. they are really taking the p**s as they have little competition in cable services

Following on to Tom's remark, I see that TalkTalk are offering a new deal which is sold as and looks like an improvement with savings etc etc but in fact will end up costing you more. Beware, especially if you make calls to Canada, Oz and NZ.
