Got hit with the same crap myself and thought it was something I had done as I wanted to install google earth and ended up with my anti virus warning me of an infection but the google browser was compromised so back onto another HDD and formatted that fecker. Seems that something is doing the rounds lately with computers so some fecking nerdy bloke is having a fun time keeping us all on our toes. Got a feeling that this HDD has been got at as well so back to the drawing board this weekend to sort the whole shebang out and clean up the whole system. Thanks for that Tom as it explains everything. What happened was there was some bloody search engine instead of google put on IE and could not get rid of it plus it was full of ads.

i have solved the problem...

it seems that whatever the attack was it must have removed itself once it done it's job. i looked and searched through hijackthis and scanned with a number of av's including trendmicro housecall and found nothing but what it did do was to hit mt firewall HIPS setting in the sandbox explained here http://help.comodo.com/topic-72-1-451-4760-.html so don't ask me th_lmao1-vi.gif

Glad you got is sorted mate as I spat the dummy and now have to reinstall windows again but thankfully it is on the HDD that I had just done. As soon as I do that I load up my anti virus gear and like before just stick with IE and windows live as I was using Thunderbird for emails but for some reason the calendar part of it is no longer working so ditching that fecker as well. It works on my old HDD but not the newer version. If this keeps up can see the whole lot making a home for itself in the garbage bin and reverting back to two tomato tins and a piece of string.

I am not receiving any answers to topics,(FROM SH AND Angel,). I have to check each topic to see if there is an answer. Have checked all settings and everything is OK. My last answer was on the 19 /09/14 . Reg :scratchhead:

hi reg, there are three ways to fix this

1, below the post reply button there is "Subscirbe topic", click that and that way you can select the topics you wish to be notified on replies.

2. OR go to your user control panel select front page and there too you will find which topics you would like to subscribe to under "manage subscriptions"

3. go to user control panel and select board prferences tab then select edit posting defaults then select Notify me upon replies by default and check the button YES, this method will give you notification to all topics.

this same method should work for Angel's too

if you get stuck let me know me lord :pirate:

Hi Tom.
Thank you for that info. I have found that all emails from various forums are going straight into the "Spam" folder. I am not quite sure how to fix this , any help would be a great help. Only emails that are sent direct to me are going to my "In Box".
Reg :wave; :scratchhead:

if you mean Gmail reg try this. open your spam folder and open the email that you consider not spam, at the top of the email you will see an arrow pointing left, delete forever and not spam click not spam and it should go directly into the inbox

Why oh why do they feck around with settings in email accounts. Have had one niggling problem with Hotmail for years now. Some people use reply button and it sends it to a defunct email account instead of to Hotmail for some reason. Have learnt now never ever cancel an email account but just write all the info into a book as years from now it can come back to haunt you.
