Remember my saying? No good being stupid unless I fecking show it. Well the answer to this little query is thus. As you said Tom it came from a GMX account that has been bugging me for over a year. Every time I send a email it seems the return address is this fecking GMX account even though I cancelled it years ago. So I decided to open up Lightning with Firefox and see if that would solve the problem. After a rush of blood to the head thought I know I will send an email to myself with all the contacts on it so that I can put them into the new contacts list. Realised straight after I had sent it that it would also go to everyone on the list. At least I got to know what ones where defunct after that. Have not tried out Lightning to see if this bloody GMX account has gone or not. So there my friends is the answer it was I being bloody stupid.

Therein lies the problem that I have been having Tom. Seems that everytime I send a email it still denotes that it comes from GMX and hence I do not get any replies.

did you followed all these steps when you closed the account

1
Click the "Settings" icon located at the top of the screen once you have signed into your GMX Mail account.

2
Click "My Account" on the pop-up window that appears.

3
Open the "Account Details" section, and click "Delete Your Account Now."

4
Select the reason that you wish to terminate your account in the "Reason" drop-down menu. Input any comments you would like GMX administrators to read in the "Feedback" box, and type your account password into the "Password" box.

5
Click "Delete Account." The GMX system will immediately log you out.

Tom this is Les you are trying to talk to with all this nerdy crap. I get lost here just turning the bloody thing on. Anyway story is that I deleted that program a long time ago and since then have changed operating system from XP to W7. Even installed a new HDD. How that for nerdy crap talk from a dedicated ludite. Seems that I am haunted with this fecking GMX address and when sending emails this is the crap address that goes with it?

From: Leslie Woodard <???????????????@gmx.com>

Even though I am sending it from Hotmail hence installing Lightning to see if that will solve the problem but still using my hotmail address and wondering if the same thing is happening with that. I have a Bigpond account that I can use but would entail me changing all correspondence to that address which is something I would prefer not to do. Can tell you that it is really doing my head in as there is nothing on this fecking computer that has any link to GMX and if I was in the UK I would be locked up for life for killing the BIL for putting me onto that site in the first place. So waiting until someone replies to one of my emails to see if that address is still the same or not and until then will just glory in the fact that at least it keeps the crap from blocking up my emails. So thank you for that trouble and I did try it but was informed that there is no gmx.exe on my computer.

It seems that you need to go to the gmx site login and deregister the account manually. Alternatively you could try making a new hotmail email but gmx may have been linked to your identity , thats why you will need to deregister. Or get a yahoo or ymail address

Have tried to get back on the GMX website but can not open up the old account as I cancelled it last year so the old user name can not be used again. I have linked my old Bigpond account up with Lightning but because all correspondence goes to the Hotmail account I do not want to go through the head banging of changing it. The only problem is with personal emails when instead of writing a new one some use the reply function which sends it to the fecking GMX account. So it is something on this bloody end that keeps installing a defunct address on all outward going mail. Think the only solution is to try sending mail using the Bigpond account so will send you an email Tom and if you could use the reply function to see if it gets sent back to me would be grateful. Can you here that noise in the background? It is the sound of someone hissing themselves from across the ditch.

No wucking forries Tom it is all working okay somehow I stumbled on the solution. Like years ago when we used to jump into the bunk with a problem only to wake up with the solution in hand. Can I detect a bit of ribbing coming from the U S of A about my mental state. But then again living under the Obama regime they have to get there laughs where ever they can LOL.
