Well George i see we have signed joe cole at Anfield, There is certainly a place for him in the side, The only concern i have is, is, he trying to replace torres ? or hopefully strengthen our strike force. ???? It will all become clear over the next few weeks, I must admit Saturdays are never the same closed season. I wish your side all the luck in the world mate and hope they come straight back into the top flight, never say never George look at Blackpool its a funny old game mate Regards Terry. I also think Roy Hodgson could be a good move for L.F.C.

Hi Terry I think you have two good sighnings in Roy Hodgson and Joe Cole. Hodgson is a good steady manager, with the required skill of being able to motivate his teams, and we all know what Cole can do. I think that Torres will remain at Liverpool, and hopefully all the rumers of his leaving are paper talk, I heard on the radio that Gerrard is staying put, yet the papers had him leaving for new pastures. As for Portsmouth we are still in the hands of the administrator, and all our best players being sold on, there is very little news coming out of Fratton Park for the moment, so it's fingers crossed for us. Anyway Terry, heres wishing your lads a good season, George

Yes George there are all kinds of rumours flying around about Gerrard and Torres, If i had the choice to pay the current owners and get them out of a game, they will not only ever have an interest in, but dont understand what L.F.C. means to there supporters it would be 70,000,000, for Torres. Stevie Gerrard is Liverpool football club. he has always wore his heart on his sleeve and wanted to play in the shirt. He proved that when given the offer to join Chelsea, Although i admit after a bad season by L.F.C. Standards we cant guarantee champions league football and the revenue that goes with it. Hate to admit with you but have to agree things dont look good at Fratton Park, But as we have said before it could be any of the premiership clubs next season. Idont know whether you watched the documentary on BBC2 this week regarding the best manager England never had .Brian Clough, I wish a few more people in football would adopt his ideals and standards these days, I Know the likes of him the great Shankly, and Bobby Robson, Along with Clough had the right idea, When i heard the great servant to Clough, John Robertson, say during an interview, Brian Clough wanted him at Derby County in 1983, When i want your agent to kick a ball for me son i will speak to him. {GREAT QUOTE} Regards George the best of luck mate Terry.

I don't know if you know already, but Gerrard has confirmed he's staying at Liverpool. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 837579.stmI also suspect that Torres will also stay. Macherano on the other hand is a gonner as far as I can tell, though it has yet to be confirmed. It's great news about Cole and I can't wait to see the first pre season game tomorrow night(Wednesday) against Grasshopper. I have a feeling that Roy Hodgson, will get the best out of the players and is a good manager. As far as the yanks are concerned, the quicker them two idiots get out and stay out of Liverpool the better. Edit: For all LFC fans, or just football fans in general, please checkout the Bill Shankly interview at the link below. http://video.stv.tv/bc/sport-exclusive- ... interview/What a great man and manager.

Terry, how right you are about Brian Clough, he more or less had it all, shame he was born into an era of ass wipes, the reason he missed out on the England job, nothing changes there then, mined if my memory is correct was he not the first British manager to break the Million Pound barrier when he sighned Trevor Francis. I always addmired Shankly, Paisley, Robson, Busby, Furguson, Jock Steen, Rednapp and after last season Avram Grant who was very close to keeping Portsmouth in the premier league, and under such horrific secomestances. I know I have missed out a few good managers and my appolegies for that. Anouther preseant day manager that gets over looked is Martin O'Neal at Aston Villa. Howard thanks for the link to the Bill Shankly interview. George

Echo your thoughts on all the greats George, Have seen that interview before Howard thats what shankly was all about, and why he was so respected on Merseyside by L.F.C. FANS. Iagree about Avran Grant George he was a goodin mate as i said last season he got your side playing some great football, Towards the end of last season know one relished a trip to Fratton Park. i also thank you for refreshing me on that Shankly interview Howard, The managers George mentions in his post truly are greats its just a pity them with the brains amongst the F.A. Dont see it like we supporters do .Regards lads Terry.

Terry, & LFC Suporters did I hear correctley on the radio yesterday that there is a very wealthy China buisness man trying to buy out Hicks & Gillett, It would seem if true he has access to more mony than Man City, also said something about he is able to aquire monies from the Chinees government. If the Yanks don't sell could you guys point him in the direction of Fratton Park Portsmouth. George

Terry Terry we really don't whant the two Yanks just send them home, listning to BBC 5 live and it would seem that Liverpool have several offers to buy them. pleased to hear that Torries is staying, never thought he would leave you though. We Pompy fans are never down Terry, even if the Tax man is able to make an example of Portsmouth, we will somehow return, After all our good neibours Aldershot done it, took a wile but what the heck, just dissapointing to us old codgers that in the late 40s to late 50s we were in the leagues elete, but since then we have been up and down like a YOYO, servived extinction twice, by the skin of our teeth. So as they say third time lucky, or for us unlucky, who knows. But even if we go to the Confrence like Aldershot did, I think we will still get large numbers of supporters turn up. My wish is that English Football will get a grip of itself and start producing the future Gerrards,Roonies Beckhams etc So GOOD LUCK to all teams as long as you don't come to Fratton Park George

We could end up with Chinese? Jordain's ? Arabs ? The only one certainty is that it wont be owned by any Brits ? There's no bloody funds here and if this joke of a Government get there way we wont be able to afford to go and watch a game anyway ??????? Regards mate Terry.

Hi Terry nice to hear a lot of possetives coming out of Anfield, and Crouch will be a very good sighning. Why on earth dosn't Cappallo youse him for England he has always played well for his Country,( hope England fans stay away from Wembly this week). I think that Pompy will struggle this season untill there ownership situation is sorted out, that said the court of appeal did fined in Pompy's favour, against the tax man in the week, just have to see what happens next. Terry fingers crossed for all British Football Clubs, and may the football Fairy open the eyes of all the Club Owners and stop them taking our great game into the abbiss George

Couldn't agree more George, Why the hell did he take crouch out there ?????. Yes your team got a reprieve, Watched the highlights of your win last night, You certainly aren't the side you were and that's a shame, Crouch hasn't done himself any favours recently if we are to believe the bad press he has had. And it can make a big difference to there game just look at John Terry, His game has never been the same in my opinion Chelsea or England, I admire what Gerrard said in the press today i hope England get some stick of there supporters against Hungary in the qualifier heaven knows they deserve it. Regards George. Terry.

Hi Terry, I thought that in general they all played well. Gerrard for me played the best i've seen him for ages in an England shirt. Thought Lampard and Gerrard looked more in tune than I can remember, but when Lampard left the pitch Gerrared looked the player you so often see at Anfield. The two Johnsons played well mined we Pompy fans know exactly what Glen is capable of. All in All a far better performance from England but for how long will it last. As for Roony he looks very troubled to me and isn't on his game at all, Fergy will have to get him going with one of his cups of tea throwing exercisess George

It seems to me George when England take to the big stage, They arnt the same side we see game after game. Maybe there is a case for summer football winter breaks as far as the game against Hungary goes 10 out of 10 Lads Regards george Terry.
