nice Bio too. I think the rest of um here sailed on itty bitty boats in teensy weensy bodies of fresh water yacht: but I'm not sure cause I've only looked at boats myself. ;inno

Nice to meet you and look forward to getting to know you. CheersW.gif

There are a few of us on site that live in Oz and that bugger across the ditch has scared some and I try not to show how much his barbs hurt so be assured that he is like a toothless bull dog. All bark no bite. A bit like still be at sea living over there in the remotist city in the world mate but at least you have the doctor visiting every now and then to cool things of for you all. I did not drink all the cold ones it was all those bloody Kiwis from Bondi passing through that done it.

I'm from a 3rd generation of Grimsby trawlermen family ggfather gfather and father. I myself only went trawling as a boy, euphemistically called pleasure tripping.
How ever I do have a great interest in all things trawler and to that end I have for some years undertook to create a database of UK trawler owners funnel liveries and flags.
It totals well over 2000 owners funnels and variations but I would still like to add more.
As a guest visiting I noted certain members interest in the pierhead artist and paintings and I have used the paintings on many occasions as they are the nearest thing to a coloured photograph in the early 1900's.
I would be keen to make contact with any like minded member

Thank you both for the warm welcome.
Apologies to other new boy Mike Tiernan for latching on to the coat tails of his post but these sites are all slightly different in layout and I rather thought I was posting a fresh post. Any way we are here now and thats all that matters.
thanks again
billblow

Treat it the same as first signing on and finding out that the rest of the crew have done several trips on her. Just take this chance to welcome you mate and tell you that you have the first wheel on the dog watch LOL.
